This makes me sad.

I read somewhere that it’s a new CUV concept.

I hope not. That’s not the worst concept I’ve ever seen but it definitely doesn’t look anything like a Speed. That doesn’t even look like a hot hatch

It makes me happy. 2.5 turbo skyactiv means the groundwork for the mazdaspeed 3, 6, and CX-5 are laid out.

We need the new CX-9 so badly. The current one drives nicely but is quite dated.

Certainly it’s progress, but I’ve been itching to see what Mazda does with the sexy new Mazda3 design when it cranks up the performance.

Sadly I’ve just been itching for so long to see the new MS3 that I kinda glossed over some of the concept’s details like the ground clearance. ANYWAY new CX-9 horraaaaaaaaaah I guess

My guess is its the new direction for the CX-5 but I could be wrong.

Yeah they really need to release something just to let people know. We aren’t crazy far from the Focus RS being released I believe.

Yeah, looks like it’s going to be the refreshed CX-9. CX-5 is doing well and the CX-3 is poised to sell.

Autoblog has spy shots. This is not the CX-9.

I am definitely interested in the CX-9...I mean, since we can’t have a 6 wagon, it’s like the next best thing. Are they still keeping the CX-7, 5, and 3 at the same time. Seems like a lot of overlap, especially with the CX-5/3 being so close in size and specs to the Mazda3 5-door.

And the MS3 *should* come in a little cheaper than the RS, I would think. Get some details out there, Mazda!

The CX-7 was killed off to make room for the CX-5. The 2012 model-year CX-7 was the last made.

Thanks — makes sense. I still see the 7 everywhere, but was starting to wonder why it was lagging the refresh on the rest of the models...

The CX-5 had a facelift shown at the 2014 LA Auto Show as a 2016 model. I think this is the CX-9.

The CX-9 is already out on the roads in camo, this is either a new styling direction or a new model that will go into production in the next few years.

The CX-5 was refreshed but is only going to be around in its current itteration for a few more years. Mazda is looking to significantly revise or refresh its models every few years now.

I would hope so. But I’m sure whenever Mazda reveals it we won’t be disappointed.
